Meet the Staff
Weatherly Boehmer
Weatherly has been working in the printing industry since she fell in love with it in 1989. She started Weathervane Graphics on the side in 1995, when she got hooked on computer graphics and the internet. Weatherly purchased American Quick Print, Inc., and was the company’s president from 2001 to 2009. In September 2009, she incorporated Weathervane Graphics and decided to make it her main priority.
Her folks dragged her to Front Royal, VA, when she was 14 years old and she will never forget the smell that came wafting into her classroom from the Avtex plant on her first day of school. Weatherly attended R-MA for two years, but graduated from Warren County High School. Determined to get out of town, she did leave for a while after high school but quickly realized that Front Royal was actually a pretty cool place to live. She moved back to the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains and the Shenandoah River and went straight to work.
She is the past president of the United Way of Front Royal-Warren County and has served on its Board of Directors since 2005. She also serves on the Board for String of Pearls Animal Sanctuaries, Inc., a no-kill animal rescue that serves the Shenandoah Valley.
Weatherly loves music, art, photography, computers, movies, animals and playing in the river. On the rare occasion that she has any spare time, you will find her enjoying one of those things.
Renee Lazer Bayliss
Renee’s interest in graphic design began on career day in elementary school when her first choice career of “artist” was already taken and she decided to sign up for “graphic designer” instead. About this same time, she got her first book on typography from the Scholastic Book Club and the rest is history. She now has 10 years experience working in the fields of printing, graphic design, and web design.
Ms. Bayliss holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Media Arts and Design, specializing in Corporate Communication from James Madison University. At JMU, she was Student Vice President of the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society and was awarded “Outstanding Senior” from the School of Media Arts and Design in December 2009. Renee is also a graduate of Bradley Academy for the Visual Arts in York, PA with an Associate’s degree in Specialized Technology.
Renee’s favorite design projects include brochures, magazine ads, and websites. She has also worked in magazine production and as a marketing intern for the Shenandoah Valley Discovery Museum, one of her favorite local non-profit organizations. Renee welcomes the occasional break from her design duties when she has the opportunity to consult with clients, write copy, or brainstorm new project ideas.
Ms. Bayliss finds her job to be most rewarding when she is able to help an entrepreneur develop their first marketing materials or assist a non-profit in creating a piece that is both professional and affordable. She enjoys working in an industry that supports the success of local small businesses. Outside of the office she can be found vegetable gardening, cooking, traveling, and admiring art with her husband and two kitties.
Katie Priest
Katie joined the team in 2008. With her strong customer services skills and background as a customer service rep for several large companies, she was just the person we were looking for to run the front office. She capably handles our clients' ordering needs and quotations -- not to mention the phones, filing, copying, faxing and everything else we could possibly ask of her.
Outside of work Katie is Mom to a wonderful kid, loves camping and hiking, and is an avid crafter and jewelry maker. You can see some of her work in the display we set up for her at the office.
